VortexDNA Unleashes the Power of Space Weather Data for Predictive Analytics

As earthquakes continue to shake Christchurch New Zealand, home of VortexDNA, the technology company today unveiled its Space Weather Service. The service supplies data to insurance companies and others, to enable them to make better predictions. The results could lead to fairer insurance rates, fewer defects in manufactured goods, and better customer service.

"Space weather has a major impact on the global economy," says Branton Kenton-Dau, VortexDNA CEO. "Industries such as aviation, electronics and utilities continuously monitor space weather conditions in order to provide early warning of potential malfunction of computers, power lines and manufacturing processes. We are now bringing the power of space weather to the field of predictive analytics."

The company takes raw space weather data collected by the US Air Force, NASA and other agencies, and processes it through its own proprietary algorithms. The result is a dataset that has already demonstrated its predictive power by reducing risk for investors trading the financial markets.
